COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to coronavirus restrictions and a general desire to keep the public, my clients and myself safe, I am currently only able to provide counselling via Zoom video chat or telephone.
One of the things I love about living in the Potteries is seeing all the old bottle kilns everywhere I go. I love thinking about the intense firing process, putting something as fragile and delicate through fire and seeing it come out stronger and more beautiful for it. I think this applies to counselling, too – often, we come to counselling or therapy when we feel very fragile, worried, or small. Counselling can seem like being put into the middle of a fire when we first begin! And yet the process leads to something strong and beautiful and lasting.
Making the first contact can feel overwhelming – maybe a little frightening. Here at Kilnfire, I try to make the process as easy as I can. Counselling and therapy is about helping you – whether that is a deep understanding of yourself, your life and why you are the way you are; making changes in your life; working through persistent problems that seem to come up over and over again; or simply getting some outside perspective on a situation that’s weighing on your mind – I am here to help you.
I have worked with many different people in my training and professional life – from people who struggled to get out of bed in the morning, to people who just needed a few weeks to work through a particular circumstance, to people who had coped with difficult things for a very long time, and found they were not so able to cope anymore.
